François Zanella’s Majesty Of The Seas
If you are deep into a hobby, if you have a passion about something, there is also a bit crazyness in your heart. Maybe more than a bit.
François Zanella definitly has some more than a bit. He started building a 1/8 scale model of the Royal Caribbean International’s “Majesty Of The Seas” cruise ship in 1994 at a yard across his house in Morsbach France, two years after the launch of the original ship. It took 11 years to finish the project for him. Then the model was Sarreguemines to be launched. The scale model replica is a fully operational canal boat, with a shallow draught which allows her to sail in most of the european canals. Sometimes the height can be a problem but it is also adjustable. The model is 33.5m long, 4.75m wide.
As you see Zanella’s dreams came true after 11 years of work. Now he is enjoying his retirement onboard his own cruise ship. A good retirement life for a mine worker.
