The movie Grayhound takes the story from the novel “The Good Shepherd” by C. S. Forester. After US enterst the world war 2, navy commander Captain Krause has a duty of escorting a fleet of merchant ships to England. Atlantic ocean is full of German u-boat submarines attacking as wolfpacks to cut the aids to England. Captain Krause has to protect his ship and whole fleet from u-boats, and it’s his first crossing. The name of the ship in the movie is USS Keeling with raido callsign greyhound. but the ship is fictional. USS Kidd, a fletcher class destroyer welcomed the movie crew onboard for shootings. You can actually learn more about USS Kidd from this video
