Martin Machado’s Six Months At Sea
Yesterday I stumbled upon Martin Machado’s video. He shows us his regular life at sea on a container ship like visual diary more than a documentary. As many other sailors, he has a passtime activity which fascinated me. In his off time, he goes to his cabin where he uses as a studio, and does amazing artwork. He has some very original concept ideas and uses different materials.
Lets join him on his voyage:

After seeing his paintings with semi-transparent ship figures on top of eachother, i imagined a painting of S/S Gülcemal berthed at todays Istanbul as a ghost ship with her legendary captain on dock… If only i had such a talent…
I would like to thank Martin for his artwork which delighted maritime enthusiasts like us.
