White Squall

A white squall is sudden and violent windstorm at sea, appears without any warning like black clouds. In 1961 a white squall caused school schooner Albatross sinki which gave the inspiration to this movie “White Squall” made in 1996 .

Onboard Albatross, teen boys are sailing around the world while they are getting discipline and also continuing their studies with the help of their teachers who also have other duties like cooking, nursing… The boys also learn seamanship during their voyages. Unfortunately they get caught by a white squall and the ship sinks. Then another raugh sea awaits the captain…

The film is rated 6.5 on IMDB. Jeff Bridges, one of my favourite actors is acting the captain of Albatross. See the trailer below
